Who We Are Alliance Consulting Group, Inc. (ACG) is a professional planning consulting firm that primarily serves local and special purpose governments. Our staff has a wide variety of experience working on all manner of planning activities, including implementation of several state laws such as the Growth Management Act, the Shoreline Management Act, the State Environmental Policy Act and Local Project Review. We are passionate about what we do, and we have a fundamental philosophy of providing high quality professional services in a timely, efficient manner. ACG seeks to assist our clients in developing innovative techniques for achieving their needs and goals, believing there are positive outcomes and opportunities for every project. Alliance Consulting Group, Inc. is proud of its high level of professional integrity that has, and continues to, lead to positive, on-going working relationships with our clients. Why We Are We guide our clients through planning processes that are unique for each community. We walk with them as they discover and define the local issues. “Communities” are made up of different people with different values and different interests. We facilitate a process that helps individuals find the common points on which they can build the foundation of the community they desire. One of the most rewarding outcomes of our work is witnessing as people, groups and individuals first articulate what they “love” about their communities, and how they want to see it grow, if they want to see it grow. Most of us make various plans in our daily lives, whether it is schedules, menus, travel, or even retirement. But we still don’t fully realize how our participation in a community planning process can make a significant and long-lasting impact on our neighborhoods and quality of life. As professional planners, we bring the planner’s “toolbox” to the table, a collection of ideas, theories, processes and some regulations, that have been used in other places to build “community.” A few communities have successfully developed plans without the assistance of professional planners. Land use issues have become so complicated in recent years, through a series of legislative and court actions (aka layers and layers of rules, regulations and red tape), that most find the assistance of professionals a benefit. We would certainly never go into your home and tell you how to run it. In the same vein, ACG would never go into your community and tell you what your community needs to be, what its future should look like. The most qualified experts to make those decisions are the people who live in each community. What we can do is help you explore the options available to you. We often find normal people (non-planning professionals) are not familiar with the traditional planning process, or fully understand how decisions are made in each community. Many current residents have never had the discussion regarding the community’s future, or felt empowered to make the decisions in order to create the environment they want to call home.
